Inclusion in Texas Support Team

In accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004, schools are responsible for providing students who are receiving special education services the opportunity to participate in school through the least restrictive environment. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act requires that students with disabilities have access to the general curriculum, be involved in the general curriculum, and progress in the general curriculum.

Inclusion In Texas focuses on professional development and technical assistance to administrators, teachers (general and special education), counselors, paraprofessionals, parents and other stakeholders who are responsible for ensuring students with disabilities gain access to and show progress in the general curriculum at the enrolled grade level in the least restrictive environment. Our region-wide professional development, customized trainings, and individualized technical assistance allows us to provide guidance for districts and charter schools in meeting these IDEA requirements.
